Hi, I'm Holli, and I'm hooked on Mah Jongg.
I've been playing Mah Jongg for over a decade, and as a tournament player, I truly love the strategy, excitement, and connection the game brings. I'm passionate about helping others learn and grow their game.
When I am not at the Mah Jongg table, you'll probably find me hanging out with my family and friends, on the pickleball court, playing canasta, producing podcasts, or sneaking in Mah Jongg games on my iPad to keep strategy sharp. I believe that who you learn from matters, and I am committed to setting up every future Mah Jongg player for success from the start.
My teaching philosophy
My approach is strategic yet approachable. We start with the fundamentals: reading the card, understanding tiles, the Charleston, and build up to decision-making, defensive play, and game flow.
For beginners, I strongly recommend groups of 4 so you finish lessons with a built-in group to keep playing with. Lessons happen at one participant's home, which keeps things comfortable and relaxed.
For experienced players, I offer focused 1-hour advanced strategy sessions on hand selection, tile efficiency, flexibility, and tournament-style thinking.
More than anything, I want you to leave feeling confident, and excited to play again.
